ليلى أبو لغد، هي أستاذة أمريكية في علم الإنسان ودراسات المرأة والنوع في جامعة كلومبيا، نيويورك. وهي ابنة المفكر الفلسطيني البارز ابراهيم أبو لغد وعالمة الاجتماع الأمريكية جانيت ليپمان.

تخرجت من كلية كارلتون عام 1974، وحصلت على شهادة الدكتوراه من جامعة هارڤرد عام 1984.

تقوم أبو لغد بالتدريس في كلية وليامز، جامعة پرنستون، وفي جامعة نيويورك واشتهرت لبحثها الذي قدمته حول بدو قبيلة أولاد علي في مصر.

في عام 2001، ألقت محاضرة لويس هنري مورگان في جامعة روتشستر، والتي تعتبر من أهم سلاسل المحاضرات السنوية في مجال علم الأجناس. حصلت على لقب باحث جامعة كارنـِگي-مـِلون عام 2007 لبحث بعنوان: "هل للمرأة المسلمة حقوق? الأخلاق والسياسة، حقوق المرأة المسلمة في المجال الدولي." وهي تؤيد المقاطعة الأكاديمية لإسرائيل.

متزوجة من تيموثي ميتشل، أستاذ العلوم السياسية المتخصص في الشؤون المصرية في جامعة كلومبيا.

Lila Abu-Lughod, is an American professor of anthropology and women's studies and gender at Columbia University, New York. The daughter of a prominent Palestinian intellectual Ibrahim Abu-Lughod and American sociologist Janet Aپman.
She graduated from Carleton College in 1974, and obtained a doctorate from Harvard University in 1984.
The Abu-Lughod taught at Williams College, Princeton University, and at New York University and is best known for her research provided by the Bedouin tribe of the children of Ali in Egypt.
In 2001, gave a lecture Lewis Henry Morgan at the University of Rochester, which is one of the most important annual lecture series in the field of anthropology. I got the title of University Researcher Carnegie-colored 2007 for research entitled: "Are Muslim women's rights? Ethics and politics, Muslim women's rights in the international arena." It supports the academic boycott of Israel.
Married to Timothy Mitchell, a political science professor who specializes in Egyptian affairs at Columbia University.
